India finished fourth at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya with 85 medals, Sportstar reported on 4 October 2026.
The men’s hockey team took India’s final medal of the Games on Saturday, a second consecutive gold in the event. That result took the tally to 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. Sportstar said India fell short of its Hangzhou 2022 total of 106 medals, but would keep fourth place by finishing ahead of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan also had 21 golds. India had more silver medals, 27 to Uzbekistan’s 25.

China led with 169 gold, 89 silver, 83 bronze and 341 medals in all. Host Japan was second with 83 gold, 95 silver, 91 bronze and 269 overall. The Republic of Korea was third with 39 gold, 43 silver, 68 bronze and 150 overall.
The rest of Sportstar’s top 10 was: India, 21, 27, 37, 85; Uzbekistan, 21, 25, 24, 70; Iran, 19, 18, 15, 52; Thailand, 18, 13, 21, 52; Kazakhstan, 12, 24, 48, 84; Hong Kong, China, 11, 19, 24, 54; and Bahrain, 11, 5, 6, 22. The order in the table is by the ranking Sportstar printed, not by total medals. Kazakhstan’s 84 medals and Hong Kong’s 54 sit below teams with fewer medals but more golds.
Sportstar’s story does not list individual Indian medallists. It identifies only the men’s hockey gold as the last medal and as India’s 21st gold.
