Vivo V80 and X Fold 6 headline Vivo’s India launch event today

Vivo is launching the Vivo V80 in India on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, at an event where it will also unveil the Vivo S2 FE and bring its X Fold 6 foldable to the Indian market, GSMArena and Gadgets 360 reported. The company has also teased a mixed reality headset for the event, though it has not said whether the device will go on sale in India.

Confirmed Vivo V80 specifications

Vivo has already confirmed several key details of the V80, according to GSMArena. The phone has a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It packs a 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging, up from the 6,500mAh battery in its identically sized predecessor, the V70.

The Vivo V80 carries four ZEISS-branded cameras. On the front is a 50MP selfie camera with a 92-degree ultra-wide lens and autofocus. On the back are a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony Lytia 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS, and an ultra-wide camera. It supports 4K cinematic video at 60fps.

Vivo has not yet named the chipset that will replace the V70’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, and prices have not been announced. The launch will also give the first look at OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, outside China.

X Fold 6 comes to India

The X Fold 6 launched in China in June. Gadgets 360 said it has an 8.02-inch inner AMOLED display and a 6.51-inch cover screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and a 7,000mAh battery. 91mobiles reported that both screens run at 120Hz with up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, that the phone carries IP58 and IP59 ratings, and that its hinge is rated for 600,000 folds. Vivo has yet to reveal India-specific pricing and configurations.

Prices still to come

Leaked prices for all three phones have circulated ahead of the event, but none has been confirmed by Vivo. Buyers will get official prices, storage options and sale dates once the company announces them at the launch.
