What the Tarang Shakti 2026 seminar discussed

The theme was ‘The Central Role of Air Power in the Evolving Battlespace’. It brought together partner air forces from all continents, military leaders, academics, industry and media. Speakers looked at how air power is adapting to the changing character of war.

Key Facts

  • Seminar date: 9 October 2026, Subroto Park
  • Theme: air power in the evolving battlespace
  • Inaugural address: Air Chief Marshal AP Singh
  • CAPSS founded: 2001 (silver jubilee year)

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh's message

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh called for integrated capabilities, operational resilience and better interoperability. He urged manned and unmanned operations to be developed together, with all sensors and weapons linked to data networks from the start. DD India also reported his address.

CAPSS seminar sessions and its silver jubilee

Former IAF chief VR Chaudhari chaired a session on the shift from air superiority to battlespace control. Royal Australian Air Force chief Air Marshal Stephen Chappell chaired a session on deterrence and escalation control. CAPSS, set up in 2001, marks its silver jubilee in 2026.

Why It Matters: The talks show how India and partner air forces plan to fight with linked drones, jets and data, which will shape future buying and training.
