Course structure and Accenture LearnVantage's role

The Global MBA will have about 650 learning hours spread over four semesters. It joins IIM Kozhikode’s academic strength with Accenture LearnVantage’s industry insight, covering management, leadership, technology and global business. The wider partnership has four broad areas: global learning programmes, talent and leadership development, industry-linked learning through live projects, and research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Anurag Bansal, Managing Director of Accenture LearnVantage for Asia-Oceania and the Middle East, spoke at the launch about the pace of business reinvention. Bansal said organisations need leaders who can turn disruption into opportunity by connecting strategy, technology and human ingenuity.

What the director said about management education

IIM Kozhikode Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee said the Global MBA is meant to shape ‘visionary pragmatists’, leaders who combine a clear sense of direction with the ability to handle complexity through analysis, innovation and human-centred leadership. He said modern business requires leaders to balance excellence with equity, data with empathy and profit with purpose. On admissions, the release says applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks and have at least five years of work experience after graduation in managerial, entrepreneurial or professional roles. Selection will be based on an evaluation of the Statement of Purpose and an interview. The release did not mention fees, so applicants should check IIM Kozhikode’s official website for the fee structure and application dates once they are announced.

Why It Matters: An Indian IIM degree aimed at professionals abroad expands the global reach of Indian management education and brings in international students.
