Rajasthan DAP urea stock enough for rabi, says Kirodi Lal Meena; 14 rakes on way

Rajasthan DAP urea stock is enough for the rabi season and farmers need not worry, Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena said, according to the state’s DIPR. The state holds 1,05,584 tonnes of DAP and 3,63,969 tonnes of urea, he said.

Rajasthan DAP urea stock and rakes on the way

Another 14 DAP rakes carrying about 35,000 tonnes are in transit and should reach farmers by 14 October. At current weekly use, the stock covers about 18 days of DAP and 35 days of urea. The Economic Times also reported the minister’s assurance.

Kharif supply beat demand

In kharif 2026, DAP demand was 5.10 lakh tonnes and supply was 5,44,995 tonnes. Urea demand was 11 lakh tonnes against supply of 17,15,814 tonnes, Meena said.

Fertiliser hoarding action and tagging ban

So far in 2026-27, officials have inspected 11,770 dealers and taken 9,585 samples. They issued 1,238 show-cause notices, suspended or cancelled 128 licences, filed 25 FIRs and made 11 arrests. Meena said farmers face no pressure to buy nano DAP or nano urea, and forced tagging of other products is banned.

Why It Matters: Rabi sowing needs DAP early, so timely supply and checks on black-marketing directly affect wheat and mustard planting.
