Why a state-backed taxi brand is being pushed harder

Bharat Taxi is run by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, a multi-state cooperative in which registered drivers become members. It uses a zero-commission model, so no commission is cut from the driver’s fare, according to the operator. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched it in Rajasthan in Jaipur on 25 July 2026, after Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai. The operator said then it had 102,324 registered customers and 31,200 Sarathis in the state. It works under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, and is backed by national cooperatives including NCDC, IFFCO, GCMMF, KRIBHCO and NAFED. At the launch, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol said Sarathis had earned more than Rs 79 crore on the platform within a few months of its start. The Times of India also reported the Jaipur launch. The new target asks the service to turn those sign-ups into daily rides, and Srinivas asked officials for concrete, result-oriented efforts to raise ride numbers.

Why It Matters: A clearer ride target and station-level marketing will decide whether Bharat Taxi becomes a daily option for Rajasthan passengers.
