India added two medals and secured a third on Day 10 of the Asian Games 2026, taking the overall count to 39. Shooter Esha Singh won silver in the women’s 25m pistol, kurash exponent Pincky Balhara took bronze, and boxer Lovlina Borgohain guaranteed at least a bronze by reaching the semi-finals.

Shoot-off decides the 25m pistol
Esha Singh finished level on 38 hits with China’s Xiao Jiaruixian in the final and lost the gold in a shoot-off. It was one of India’s strongest shooting results of the Games. Manu Bhaker, a medal hope in the same event, missed the final, and the Indian team placed fifth in the team standings.

Kurash bronze and a boxing medal assured
Pincky Balhara won bronze in the women’s −78kg kurash after losing her semi-final to South Korea’s Mo Sumin. In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain beat South Korea’s Seong Suyeon to reach the women’s 75kg semi-finals, which assures her a medal, since both losing semi-finalists receive bronze.

Where India stands
India’s tally now stands at 39 medals, 4 gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze, placing the country 12th in the standings. That is well behind the record 107 medals won at Hangzhou 2023, with the final week expected to bring events in athletics, boxing and hockey where India has strong chances. Catch up on the previous day’s results in our Day 9 report, and read about Sawan Barwal’s historic marathon silver. Medal-by-medal coverage is available at Sportstar.
Indian fans will be watching Lovlina’s semi-final closely, as a win would put her in contention for gold.
