India won four gold medals on Day 12 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, led by a clean sweep of the compound archery team titles and a mixed trap shooting gold. The burst lifted the contingent to 60 medals — 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze — and back into the top 10 of the medal table.
Compound archery clean sweep
Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep beat China with a world-record-equalling 238 in the women’s team final. Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav then took mixed team gold — and an LA 2028 Olympic quota — against Korea. Kushal Dalal, Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru edged China 238–237 in the men’s final to complete the sweep at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park.
In shooting, Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won mixed trap gold with an Asian and Games record 34 out of 40, beating Qatar by two hits. It was Dhanda’s second gold in two days after she became the first Indian woman to win an individual Asian Games trap title. The haul builds on India’s Day 10 shooting and boxing medals.
Athletics ends with depth, not dominance
Track and field closed with 24 medals but only one gold — the women’s 4x400m relay featuring Vithya Ramraj — down from six golds in Hangzhou. Ramraj collected gold, silver and bronze across relays and hurdles, while Gulveer Singh and others added silvers in distance and field events.
What comes next
Women’s hockey reached the final with a 2–0 semi-final win over Korea, setting up a gold-medal clash with defending champions China on 2 October that also carries a direct LA 2028 berth. Medal-by-medal updates continue on Sportstar.
