NFSA Rajasthan beneficiaries in selected urban wards are being checked door to door from October to December 2026, as the Food and Civil Supplies Department tries to remove ineligible families from the National Food Security list and add needy ones who were left out. District releases issued by DIPR this week show teams at work in Dungarpur, Sri Ganganagar, Deedwana-Kuchaman and Sawai Madhopur. In Dungarpur alone, 222 families had been surveyed by 17 October.

Which wards the NFSA Rajasthan survey covers
According to the Dungarpur and Deedwana-Kuchaman releases, the survey targets urban wards where more than 80 per cent of the population is covered under the scheme compared with Census 2011 figures. Dungarpur has picked five such wards. On 16 October, District Supply Officer Manish Bhatnagar and enforcement officer Manali Bhatt surveyed ward 15 of Dungarpur city, while a team was at work in ward 19 of Sagwara. In Deedwana-Kuchaman, wards in Makrana, Borawar and Ladnun were chosen, and in Sawai Madhopur, the survey covers one ward of Sawai Madhopur municipal council, three in Bonli and one in Wazirpur.
Key Facts
- Survey period: Oct-Dec 2026
- Target: urban wards with over 80% NFSA coverage vs Census 2011
- Dungarpur: 222 families surveyed so far
- Sri Karanpur, Kesrisinghpur: 17 Give Up applications
- Monthly survey days: 8 (DSO), 12 (EO), 15 (inspector)
Give Up campaign: phase two and the rules
The Sawai Madhopur release calls the drive the second phase of the Give Up campaign. Teams check whether a beneficiary falls in the inclusion or exclusion categories under the National Food Security Act, looking at well-off families, income-tax payers and government employees. Such families are urged to give up the benefit voluntarily. If they do not, notices will be issued and their names removed under the rules. Officers have set survey days each month: eight for district supply officers, 12 for enforcement officers and 15 for enforcement inspectors. In Sri Ganganagar’s Sri Karanpur and Kesrisinghpur, 17 people applied to give up the benefit after counselling, the department said.
What it means for families left out of the ration list
The survey is not only about removing names. Eligible families who are not on the list will be identified, and their applications will be filled online through the department’s portal so they can start getting rations. The Deedwana-Kuchaman district supply officer said the drive would also reduce unnecessary pressure on the state’s food grain budget. Officials have asked residents to cooperate with survey teams and have appealed to well-off households to step aside so that the benefit reaches those who need it. In Dungarpur, the drive is being run under District Collector Deshaldan, and the release said it aims to verify the status of eligible and ineligible families and make the food security list more transparent and more effective.
