Shakti Suraksha Abhiyan: Rajasthan Police plan decoy teams at Navratri garba venues

How the Shakti Suraksha Abhiyan will work

Kalika teams and women police will patrol crowded and sensitive venues, the Times of India reported. Police will set up women’s help desks and display posters and QR codes with helpline and RajCop details. Entry passes and identity documents will be checked at gates.

Key Facts

  • Plain-clothes Kalika teams at venues
  • Help desks, posters and QR codes for helplines
  • Additional SP-rank officer in charge in each district
  • Patrols continue after events end

Duties for organisers

Organisers must share lists of their security volunteers and make sure CCTV cameras work, TOI reported. Police will watch entry and exit points, parking areas and the routes from parking lots to venues, with attention to lighting.

Wider outreach

Police will meet auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers and put women’s helpline stickers on public transport, TOI said. ETV Bharat reported that patrolling will continue after events end. An officer of additional SP rank will supervise the drive in each district.

What comes next

Police headquarters will consider recognising Kalika teams that perform well, TOI reported. Youth volunteers and Suraksha Sakhis will spread safety information on social media before the festival.

Why It Matters: Navratri brings large night-time crowds, and the drive aims to deter harassment before it happens.
