In a UAE tanker fire rescue on Saturday, the UAE National Guard saved 22 crew from a burning oil tanker in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf News and gCaptain reported. All crew members were in stable condition.

The crew reported the fire, and Coast Guard teams located the vessel and evacuated everyone on board, Gulf News reported. The crew were Asian nationals, according to Aletihad. The tanker was not named.

Separately, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said a supertanker hit a sea mine while using an “unauthorised route” in the Strait of Hormuz, Dawn reported. UAE reports did not link the rescued vessel to that claim.

The incidents add to attacks on ships in and beyond Hormuz in recent days. The route carries a large share of the oil India imports from the Gulf.
What comes next
The cause of the fire on the rescued tanker has not been officially stated. Shipping firms are watching for findings on both incidents.
